Lansing Area Sustainable Farming Resources

My sister will soon be living in Lansing, Michigan, so she has been looking into  inspiring projects going on in the area and local resources.  Coming soon, Triskele Farm, her two-lot urban educational farm project that I will be consulting on.

The Lansing Urban Farm Project  is a nonprofit, sustainable urban community farm in the Eastside neighborhood of Lansing, Michigan.  A young effort, it has received tremendous community support.  Its produce is available at their farm stand, by “veggie wagon” in the Urbandale neighborhood, and at the Allen Street Farmer’s Market.

The MSU Student Organic Farm is a ten acre, certified organic teaching and production farm with year-round production.  The farm provides vegetables to its CSA programs, campus farm stand, and to MSU dining hall cafeteias.

The MSU Hoophouse Website is a blog for anyone interested in all-season production or season extension with hoophouse technology, from high tunnels, passive solar greenhouses,  to low tunnels.

CSAfarms.org is a site to help Michiganders find local Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) farms.
